Lucas W. Buckland serves as Projects Administrator ensuing his career in international development. In Washington, DC, Buckland managed emerging market projects as Program Officer at the long-standing consulting firm, Development Associates, Inc. His project portfolio totals over $15 million in countries including Armenia, Jamaica, Peru, Uganda, Egypt, South Africa, Rwanda, West Bank, Nepal, Yemen, Indonesia, and Ukraine.
With regard to his United States Agency for International Development (USAID) projects, Buckland's experience includes work in the USAID areas of Democracy & Governance, Economic Growth & Trade, Education & Training, and Global Health. Additionally, Buckland brings domestic contracting know-how with experience in the Department of Education, Health and Human Services, Commerce, Labor and Treasury. Buckland delivers expertise in operations and project management, organizational improvement and a team-oriented commitment to quality and business success.
Buckland has studied in the United Kingdom at the University of Bath's Economics and International Development post-graduate department. His studies focused on applying economic rational to past problems, solutions, and lessons learned throughout the history of emerging market development. Buckland’s educational background has supported his extensive experience living overseas and managing domestic & emerging market projects. |
