WDI Partners with Al-Quds University
June 2009
WDI has entered into a partnership with Al-Quds University in the West Bank Territories. Under the agreement, WDI will provide Al-Quds with technical assistance to improve the analytical skills of Finance graduates in both undergraduate and graduate programs as well as the Finance concentration in its MBA degree. The 3-year program is fully funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).
This project will also lay the foundation for a stronger financial sector in the West Bank Territories for the expansion of access to financial services to Palestinian households and small businesses, increase resiliency to short term political and economic shocks and providing the environment for sustainable economic growth in the long term. The agreement includes a faculty exchange element, visiting scholars program and a number of short term capacity building activities.
Ayako Ariga, Project Administrator for the Development Consulting Services, says, “This partnership will train future leaders in finance.”
