Selling to the Poor

The Anglo-Dutch firm Unilever has been successfully selling household products in developing countries for more than a decade. Unilever's Vietnam subsidiary alone saw sales rise 23% last year to more than $300 million because of aggressive efforts to reach remote parts of the country through an extensive network of more than 100,000 independent sales representatives.
