DCS PROJECTS ADMINISTRATOR
This project administration position focuses on international business development, operational implementation of project activities, preparation of work plans, progress reports, and budgets while ensuring overall quality control of project activities.
Provide technical, financial and administrative project support to the "Development Consulting Services" (DCS) department.
Engage in daily communication with field teams and counterparts to proactively address management issues, troubleshoot potential technical and contractual issues, as well as personnel issues if and when they arise.
Provide support in the recruitment of short and long-term international staff and consultants.
Closely manage consultants who are abroad and subcontractors who are abroad, including monitoring budgets, obligations, and scope of work negotiation and adjustments.
Work with field teams to prepare and monitor implementation of work plans, quarterly reports, and other donor agency deliverables.
Serve as main point of contact with the field teams on administrative and contractual issues and on technical issues as raised by DCS. This includes weekly phone calls, consistent email follow-up, and sending all travel, personnel, and procurement related approvals.
Ensure compliance with all provisions of donor contracts (e.g., USAID contractual regulations) and WDI policies.
Review and refine the language of grant proposals.
Lead the realignments and management of project budgets.
Quickly respond to all other client requests and requirements as needed.
- Travel domestically and/or internationally as needed.
Perform other duties as directed.
REQUIRED CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, public policy, languages or a related field;
2+ years of relevant work experience in international business development and project management/coordination (internships included);
Previous grant proposal writing and/or administration experience is preferred;
Excellent verbal and superior written English communication skills required; fluency in a foreign language is also preferred;
- Demonstrated ability to work in cross-cultural settings;
- Ability to successfully interact with all levels of management, faculty, staff, clients and counterparts in the field of international development;
Demonstrated ability to prioritize when faced with a myriad of tasks and possession of strong organizational skills and an attention to details;
Strong team and interpersonal skills; the ability to work both independently and on a team;
- Proactive and highly motivated professional who will grow with expansion of responsibilities;
- Experience in emerging economies is highly desirable (e.g., traveling, living or working abroad); however, ability to travel domestically and internationally is required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), e-mail and the Internet;

ABOUT THIS JOB:
This entry-level full-time position is FLSA non-exempt and will not supervise others. This job requires 40 hours/week (37.5 hours onsite on weekdays 8:30 am to 5 pm on-site, plus evening and/or weekend work off-site for 2.5 hours each week), perhaps more time will be required during business travel.
NOTE: This position is funded by a grant. This position's date of hire and continuation will be determined by availability of funds from the granting agency.
