The William Davidson Institute recently hosted the 2011 Global Summit on Educating Entrepreneurs on June 16-17 in Ann Arbor, MI. The conference's 109 delegates represented 20 countries. This was a fantastic forum for exchanging ideas on entrepreneurship training program and sharing best practices. The diverse audience came from academia, the non-profit sector, development agencies, and government agencies.
We look forward to hosting the event again in June 2013. If you are interested in presenting at this event in 2013 or if you have ideas on topics you would like to see covered, email us at: EntrepreneurshipSummit@umich.edu.
A hands-on, practical approach
Entrepreneurs need tools they can use in their businesses right away. Our training programs offer content in the key areas that entrepreneurs need to grow their businesses now and position them for long-term success. We work with a team of business professors and curriculum experts to develop the most effective training program for each engagement.
Global advantage, local relevance
To ensure that our training incorporates global best practices and is locally relevant, each curriculum is developed jointly by staff and faculty at the University of Michigan and in-country experts.

Tracking success
We believe in creating programs that maximize impact. To measure this impact, WDI has Monitoring & Evaluation systems in place to track graduates across key metrics for years after program completion.
Throughout the course of our programs, we also gather extensive participant feedback on program content and faculty and solicit suggestions for improvement. We are constantly improving our offerings as we integrate participant feedback.
