Russian Visitors Discuss Potential Partnership
Two Russian professors visited WDI’s Executive Education team on May 4 to talk about possible joint projects in Russia
Professor Oleg Protsenko, vice rector of the Academy of National Economy of the Russian Federation, and Professor Victor Gnevko, rector of the St. Petersburg Academy of Management and Economics, met with Amy Gillett, director of WDI’s Executive Education program. Ross School of Business Professor, and WDI Executive Education Instructor, John Branch also participated in the meeting.
The two Russian visitors talked to Gillett about potential areas of cooperation between WDI and their institutions in the executive education area. They were interested in exploring the possibility of WDI putting together a program in health care management for Russian government workers, Gillett said. WDI previously put together a similar program for Chinese health care workers.
“WDI has done a number of interesting projects with Russian universities, including with Ural State University in Ekaterinburg and the International Management Institute of St. Petersburg,” Gillett said. “We hope to continue this tradition through cooperation with Professor Protsenko’s academy in Moscow and Professor Gnevko’s university in St. Petersburg. For me personally, this visit was also a great opportunity to practice my Russian!”
During their visit to University of Michigan, the two Russian professors also met with the Center for Russian and Eastern European Studies and UM’s Office of the Provost.
