Research Associate, Healthcare Initiative
Ellen Abrams is a Research Associate for the Healthcare Initiative with a diverse background in international project management and engineering. Before joining WDI, she spent three years as a Peace Corps volunteer in the Dominican Republic where she managed the design and construction of three rural community water systems. In addition, she took the lead on the design and the development of new water and sanitation projects throughout the Dominican Republic. She served as a sustainability engineer for Unilever’s Lipton Tea plant and worked for Johns Hopkins Hospital’s Facilities Engineering Department. Abrams has a Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Maryland, holds a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification and is fluent in Spanish.
