Engagement Opportunities
Partnership Models
The WDI Healthcare Research Initiative offers a unique and diverse skill set that has supported the work of policymakers and implementers in philanthropic organizations, developing country governments, bilateral and multi-lateral agencies, pharmaceutical and vaccine manufacturers, and "patient capital" investment firms. Through both initiative directed work as well as cross-organizational collaboration, the WDI Healthcare Research Initiative provides a range of opportunities for engagement.

Research Opportunities
The WDI Healthcare Research Initiative develops and implements new healthcare supply chain research in different global settings on an ongoing basis. Research projects range from short-term analysis to long-term partnerships. While the scope of each project varies, the WDI Healthcare Research Initiative has the capacity to conduct comprehensive strategic assessments, build analytical and simulation models, develop research designs and survey instrumentation, coordinate data collection, and implement data analysis plans.
Policy Advising
Through active research and dialogue, the WDI Healthcare Research Initiative advises policymakers and implementers on the creation of scalable and sustainable models for healthcare delivery and healthcare supply chains. The initiative's unique organizational structure helps stimulate stakeholder discussions around new solutions to the many problems affecting global healthcare delivery.
Executive Education and Training
In partnership with both WDI's Executive Education department and GlobaLens, the WDI Healthcare Research Initiative brings best practices in healthcare delivery and supply chain to practitioners, managers and thought leaders in emerging markets. Education and training programs feature the latest research and analysis from within the initiative's areas of expertise while also incorporating local examples and case studies.
Student Opportunities
The William Davidson Institute is a non-profit organization affiliated with the University of Michigan. As a result of this affiliation, WDI works directly with both the staff and faculty within the various schools, departments and research centers across campus as well as directly with the university's student population. The WDI Healthcare Research Initiative engages with students through Multidisciplinary Action Projects (MAP) at the University of Michigan Ross School of Business and through WDI's Global Impact Summer Internship Program.
Knowledge SHARING & DISSEMINATION
In addition to active engagements with partners and University of Michigan faculty, staff and students, the WDI Healthcare Research Initiative continues to push the field of healthcare supply chain research forward by engaging with two prominent knowledge dissemination platforms:
The WDI Healthcare Research Initiative provides on-the-ground insights to both NextBillion, through blog articles, and GlobaLens, through the creation of case studies and teaching tools. The initiative also leverages educational content and resources created by GlobaLens to develop customized executive education and training opportunities. Likewise, NextBillion provides the initiative with current information on best practices and active field work that connects global development, healthcare and enterprise.
