Yadav Talks About Healthcare Staffing In India

WDI Director of Healthcare Research Prashant Yadav was recently interviewed by the Economic Times in India, that country’s largest circulation financial newspaper, about the shortage of skilled health care workers in India.

In the article, Yadav said the shortage of workers is not a problem the country’s on-the-job training efforts can solve. “Nurses, physician assistants and other cadres of healthcare professionals are both in short supply and the limited supply that exists is of poor quality in India,” he said.
An issue, Yadav said, is that physicians assistants and nurses are not accepted by Indian society as well as the medical fraternity.
