Greg Vistnes

Gregory Vistnes specializes in analyzing how changes in conduct or in market structure affect competition and market outcomes, with a particular emphasis on analyzing competition in health care markets. During his career, Dr. Vistnes has held senior positions at the Antitrust Division (US Department of Justice) and the US Federal Trade Commission in which he analyzed competition in pharmaceutical and a variety of other markets, and currently serves as a consultant. Dr. Vistnes is now working with the William Davidson Institute to help analyze competition and market dynamics in international health care markets, as well as serving as a consultant to both private firms and government agencies on a range of other competition matters. Dr. Vistnes holds a Ph.D. in economics from Stanford University, and a B.A. in economics from the University of California at Berkeley.
