Abt Associates worked for several years to build up a viable system of community-based health insurance schemes, but enrollment remained low. The student MAP team prepared a business plan for a regional model in Benin that included strategies for increased enrollment, improved financial management and data collection, and required investments from all stakeholders. In 2011, a student MAP team developed positioning strategies and value propositions for priority market segments most likely to become advanced cook stove users. In 2010, a student MAP team helped Abt develop a commercially-viable Base of the Pyramid strategy to chlorinate water in Indonesia.
