Incubators and accelerators are vital to Africa’s innovation pipeline—but many face challenges reaching financial sustainability and building investable companies. In this January 2026 webinar, co-hosted by the International Trade Centre, we explore practical, systems-level solutions identified through in-depth research on entrepreneurship ecosystems in Africa.

Conducted in 2025, WDI research, “Reimagining the Future of ESOs in East Africa,” identifies the interconnected challenges facing entrepreneur support organizations (ESOs), including incubators and accelerators. It also provides detailed solutions for program design, funding models, and impact measurement, among other tools for better serving entrepreneurs, maximizing the impact of limited donor resources, and strengthening the pipeline of investable companies.

Webinar participants: Martin Labbe, Senior Officer, Organisations and Ecosystems Development at the International Trade Centre; Wendy Taylor, WDI President and CEO; Rajat Chabba, WDI Senior Director, Innovations and Partnerships; Yaquta Fatehi, WDI Program Manager, Impact Measurement and Management.
