Day One: October 15, 2008

Day One of the HR Professionals Program focuses on creating a big picture HR strategy for an organization while solving common strategy dilemmas. Discover the application of best practices in attracting talent and talent management and the interdependence between talent and strategy. HR competencies such as leadership, strategic vision and ethical decision-making are emphasized.

Day Two: October 16, 2008
  
Day Two examines the strategic priority of talent retention and development. We’ll focus on the identification of high priority talent that exists in your organization and tools for inspiring and keeping them motivated. You’ll learn tools and a case study methodology for creating competitive advantage through engaging talent. Specific topics explored include: motivation, career development, coaching, learning, training and retention.

Day Three: October 17, 2008

Day Three focuses on change management. We’ll focus on leadership development, strategies and tactics for creating a performance management culture and managing cultural change in your organization. Next, we’ll explore ways to assess organizational readiness for change and tactics for handling resistance to change. Finally, we’ll discuss ways to create engagement and achieve organizational alignment.

Day Four: October 18, 2008

Day Four is all about hiring and people development. In the morning sessions, we’ll discuss ways to build an organizational culture for competitive advantage. You’ll learn best practices for recruitment and selection, as well as for coaching and mentoring. The afternoon of day two day will feature a workshop on strategic interviewing. We’ll look at characteristics of good selection tools and learn how to write good interview questions.
