Naomi Kinyanjui is Program Manager, Energy & E-mobility at the William Davidson Institute, based in Nairobi, Kenya. She manages  clean energy and e-mobility projects across Sub-Saharan Africa, supporting business development, partner engagement, market research, and program delivery. 

Kinyanjui supports collaborations with clients, funders, and partners focused on commercializing and scaling clean energy and mobility solutions in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs) across the continent.

Kinyanjui draws on a decade of experience in clean energy, infrastructure, climate finance, investment facilitation, policy advisory, and public-private partnerships across Africa. Her knowledge around African innovation and markets inform cross-regional insights for WDI’s work in other LMICs, including in Asia and Latin America.

Before joining WDI, Kinyanjui served as Senior Trade and Investment Advisor (Energy & Infrastructure) with the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office, supporting the U.K. government’s clean energy and infrastructure portfolio in Kenya. In that role, she worked with government, development finance institutions, donors, investors, regulators, technical advisors, and private-sector partners to advance clean energy, e-mobility, sustainable transport, and infrastructure initiatives. She also consulted for Oxfam GB on extractives governance and corporate accountability. 

Kinyanjui holds a Master of Laws in oil and gas Law with professional skills from the University of Aberdeen, Scotland, and a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Nairobi. She also holds a postgraduate diploma from the Kenya School of Law and is an advocate of the High Court of Kenya.
