A televised press conference was held at INC Career Center on June 4, where the Director of the Career Center, Dr. Ali Belkhiri, announced the 2nd annual Career Fair slated for June 29-30 to the Algerian television and newspapers.  The announcement was televised in the evening news and received national press coverage.

 


 

WDI Consultant Dr. Sid Ahmed Benraouane was deployed to the Algerian National Institute of Commerce (INC) Career Center to implement a series of programs on how multinational companies manage their talents pipeline and Algeria integration to the global labor market.

Kazakhstan Marketing Center Project’s Sustainable Track Strengthened with US Visit

WDI’s sustainability plan for the Marketing Education and Research Center (MERC) development project at the International Academy of Business (IAB) in Almaty, Kazakhstan was launched on March 3, 2008. A sustainable MERC can now carry out its vision of serving as a bridge between academia and the business community in Kazakhstan.

The village of Buyukkonuk was alive on October 21, 2007 with both locals and visitors for the “Eco Day” event that celebrated ecotourism, a new but steadily developing activity in northern Cyprus. The idea of embracing eco-friendly and sustainable tourism while celebrating their cultural heritage was well appreciated under the slogan of the day “Come experience village traditions and nature at its best.”

New management team to lead the School of Finance and Banking (SFB) in Kigali, Rwanda

Almost 15 months have past since WDI’s Development Consulting Services was asked by the Government of Rwandan to turn around SFB, and position it as a premier business school in the region.

WDI continues to steadily make its mark as the global leader in the base-of-the-pyramid (BoP) and social enterprise (SE) research as it successfully completes an 18-month assessment and submits a report titled “The Base of the Pyramid Perspective and the Social Enterprise Methodology: Understanding the Facilitating Role for Development Agencies”  to the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) and its partner nonprofit organization, Pact.

Marketing Center Adds Prestige as a Result of US Visit

The Marketing Education and Research Center (MERC) at the International Academy of Business (IAB) in Almaty, Kazakhstan has been making its presence felt more than ever both among the local businesses and the international marketing community as a result of their key players’ visit to the United States. MERC was founded by the project titled “Marketing Education and Research Center (MERC) in Kazakhstan” administered by the Higher Education for Development (HED) funded by USAID.

Jordan Natural Resources Focus of WDI Project

WDI has signed a three-year agreement with Higher Education for Development in Washington to implement the Jordanian Education for Water and Environmental Leadership (JEWEL) project. Higher Education for Development (HED), as part of the American Council on Education, funded the project through a cooperative agreement with USAID.

A center designed to improve marketing expertise in Kazakhstan has opened, the result of a partnership between the International Academy of Business (IAB) in Almaty, Kazakhstan, and the University of Michigan’s William Davidson Institute (WDI). The project was under the administration of Higher Development for Education (HED) and funded by the U.S. Agency for International Development.

Rwanda Government Hires WDI for School Project

The government of Rwanda, wanting to turn its School of Finance and Banking (SFB) into a regional center of excellence among East African business schools, signed a five-year agreement with the William Davidson Institute to provide capacity building for the school.

WDI assists with the creation of a Marketing Center in Kazakhstan

Under the Central Asia Business and Economics Education (B&EE) project, financed by the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) and implemented by CARANA Corporation, WDI was recently tasked with establishing a marketing center at the International Academy of Business (IAB) in Kazakhstan.  The mission of the center is to build bridges between the “real” and academic worlds serving the marketing knowledge needs of the business community, while giving students real-world training, enhancing marketing curriculum up to international standards and providing relevant training courses to address the challenges and issues facing marketers today.  For this assignment, WDI sent Dr. Aaron Ahuvia of the University of Michigan-Dearborn School of Management to Almaty, Kazakhstan to assist in the development of this center.
